This platform is labelled, not closed.
Butchers put a sign in the window. One says halal. One says kosher. Nobody calls that discrimination - it is a label, so that the person walking past knows what is inside and decides for themselves whether to come in.
paMuhacha carries the same kind of sign. We are telling you plainly what this platform is and who it was built for. If it is not for you, no harm is meant and none is done - walk on. What we will not accept is being told we are excluding people when all we have done is describe ourselves honestly.
What the label says
- It is for marriage. Not dating, not company, not passing time. Everyone who enters signs the same charter saying so.
- It is for Southern Africa. Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The customs, the lobola talk, the totems and the aunt herself are all from here.
- It runs on totems. Lineage is how the aunt sorts and how she avoids what must be avoided. If you do not know your totem, this is not the place for you - ask your people first.
- It carries four faiths. Christian, Muslim, Traditional and Jewish. These are the four households the aunts are equipped to guide. We would rather carry four properly than twenty badly.
- It is aunt-led, not algorithm-led. A married woman asks the real questions and stands behind the introduction. A machine does not.
- It asks for the personality test. It is mandatory, and your aunt reads it. That is the data half of a data-driven match.
What it does not say
It does not say anyone is lesser. It does not say another platform is wrong. It does not say the people we do not serve are unwelcome anywhere else - only that we are not the right house for them, and that pretending otherwise would waste their time, which is the one thing this platform exists to protect.
We are catering for our own. That is the whole of it.
